Intimate correction women

Labiaplasty - labia that are too large or too small can be corrected (labiaplasty)

A labiaplasty is a surgical procedure in which a woman’s labia are surgically altered. The procedure is carried out for various reasons. Either because the labia are too large or asymmetrical, or if there is discomfort such as pain during sexual intercourse or sport.

In most cases, the labia are too large

In most women, the labia minora are affected because they are excessively large. This is usually congenital, but can also develop in the course of life due to childbirth or sagging connective tissue. Sometimes the labia minora are also affected, which can also be reduced in size. More rarely, the labia minora are too small and narrow. In these cases, the labia can be filled with autologous fat.

Labiaplasty is an outpatient procedure

The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia and on an outpatient basis. If desired, the procedure can also be performed under anesthesia. During the operation, excess tissue is removed and the wound is then cosmetically sutured. You may go home immediately after the operation. Pain and swelling may occur during the first few days, which can usually be treated well. Nevertheless, you should take it easy for the first few days. Sitting and lying down is good, standing and walking a lot tends to lead to an increase in pain and swelling.

Benefits, risks and complications of intimate correction

It is important that you are aware of the risks and complications of labia reduction or labia augmentation as well as the benefits. These include post-operative bleeding or wound infection. It is also important to know that certain differences between the size and shape of the labia are normal in women.

Overall, however, women benefit significantly after labiaplasty and feel more comfortable and self-confident. However, you should obtain sufficient information and speak to an experienced surgeon before deciding on an intimate correction.
