Blood-thinning medication that is taken regularly must be discontinued in good time before an operation in consultation with the responsible doctor or replaced by suitable substitute medication.
Aspirin, all anti-inflammatory drugs, herbal remedies or dietary supplements must not be taken five days before and after the procedure. These substances lead to a strong impairment of blood clotting!
Feverish infections or a herpes infection at the time of the operation must be reported immediately and are a reason to postpone the date of the operation.
Smoking can lead to serious wound healing disorders due to the constriction of the blood vessels and circulatory disorders.
